I may be being optimistic but I picked They will do better and really break out. Gossip Girl and Reaper are getting alot of buzz and Aliens in America is too. Those 3 shows could really help them out and help them in the long run aswell. Life is Wild is different story but I think it will be an overall up season. Mondays should get a bump from AiA, Tuesdays are getting a huge overall and I would think the combo of BATG/Reaper would atleast do better than the GG/VM combo last year which at best averaged like 4.1 million on a night (That was like the maximum). Wednesdays should see good results -- Gossip Girl has HUGE potential. Thursdays are fine and Fridays are. Sundays are the only question mark. I think CW Now will flop honestly but I think Online Nation could do well, and its getting some buzz (I actually saw some on-air promos for it). Life is Wild could go either way.

I think they will do better. How much better I don't know. AIA and Reaper are getting the best buzz. Gossip Girl is starting to get more negative feedback. Life Is Wild?. Well, no one is saying boo about that one. Plus, it's on a horrible night with no real support at all. Hopefully, AIA will get noticed and do well by the reviews and word of mouth. Otherwise, it could be in danger being on Monday night and having EHC, which was down 39% this season, as a lead in. Reaper could do well. How well BATG does as a lead in, I don't know. Reaper will be up against House, and American Idol will be on mid season. Quite honestly, even tho it's a show I have no interest in, I think Gossip Girl has the best chance ratings wise. The others all kind of have question marks when it comes to ratings and their times and slots. Gossip Girl seems like it would go better with ANTM than OTH. Of course, ANTM is the highest rated show on the network, so that could be a big plus.

I believe there'll soon be a shakedown within TV, and more than one net-ette will bite the dust. However, I believe the CW just might survive, but keeping Ostroff in the driver's seat won't exactly improve its chances. While she did well in single-themed CHANNELS such as Lifetime, I believe running a whole net-ette is over her head. Several of her decisions, such as retaining Veronica Mars while dumping Everwood were terrible! (BTW, I liked VM, while not watching Everwood at all after the first ep.)

Ostroff has not been the best for the CW. However, I appreciate her trying to give VM a life. She gave it every chance in the book, but it just didn't catch on for some reason. It was a shame she didn't pick up Everwood, one of the top best shows there was, or that she didn't renew Reba. I don't know how well she did at Lifetime. A couple of posts discussing Dawn O. said she left Lifetime after she sent it down in flames, and only did the network make a turn around until after she had left. Lol. I believe it.

From what I saw, O did a good job at Lifetime, but then you may be better-informed than I am, Dec 78.
Yes, she DID give VM every chance, but it was a just plain stupid move to have cancelled Everwood to make roomta have kept VM. Unlike 7th heaven, Everwood's cast wasn't breaking the bank with salaries, and all were willing to have made more episodes. But, most important of all, it was one of the most-watched CW shows, while VM was one of the least-watched! No rocket science is needed to see O dropped the ball !
I guess she's gonna give Gossip Girls every chance also, as, while viewership-challenged, it IS watched by enough of the desired demo, females 18-34, to meet her expectations. And, it's not really a bad show. I hope more viewers find it.
Same for Reaper, although it's had more viewership than GG so far.
As for CW Now & Online Nation, they're headed for oblivion. They're experiments that are failing.
Aliens In America isn't gonna make it, either.
Life Is Wild is going down. It's simply not a good show.
And, if the CW insists upon airing such terrible reality shows as Crowned or Farmer Wants A Wife , the whole net could be in danger of folding. Both WB and UPN had a reputation, along with Fox, for airing the worst reality shows of all time, and these two won't do a thing to reverse it. They'll simply drive more viewers away from the CW in general.
My formula for them is simple...Invest more bread in QUALITY stuff, and quit trying to concentrate only on the one demo. There are umpteen netlets & cable channels geared toward the 18-49 demo, and there's only so much room for such programming. So far, the quality of the CW's shows hasn't been good enough to supplant the local fare available to the desired demo, and if that doesn't change, they're gonna go belly-up. The sponsors know they can get their message out for fewer bux to more viewers by working with a number of local providers insteada an unsteady net-ette that can't bring in the viewers. So far, there's just been too many helter-skelter decisions and juvenile mistakes made within CW.

Dawn O seems to believe in Gossip Girl, although regular TV viewers don't seem to share the same thought. With the CW, I don't think ratings matter as much as they would have on the WB and other places. If so, a few shows would of been gone by now, and some others would of stayed. I gave GoGi a chance with the pilot, but that was about all I could take. Lol.
Reaper has a chance. If GoGi made it for a full season renewal, then so should this one. Like you said, it is a bit higher rated than GoGi, and it is getting good raves and buzz.
Obviously, Sunday night is a disaster. Life Is Wild bombed and the CW couldn't of expected it to do more than it did. They set it up for disaster and have no one to blame for the horror of Sunday nights than themselves. CW Now and Online Nation are no lead in for LIW, and it has no lead out in repeats of Top Model(and do we need those either?). I'm surprised CW Now and Online Nation haven't been pulled yet.
