Dean Cain is going to appear in episode 4. Also, the producers have said they would like to get Helen Slater, who played Supergirl in the 1984 film, to guest star. Makes sense since Supergirl is going to be on the show this year. Lol. That would be cool. Season 7 is shaping up to be something cool, I think. I am already excited more from what I have read about this season than last season. I can't wait. I just wish it was a full night of premieres with Supernatural on after it.

Variety is reporting that Helen Slater will appear on Smallville. She will be in episode 6, playing the aunt of Kara. They also wonder if that means she could be Clark's mother, Lara?.
I don't know about you, but this season is shaping up to be something really good!. I can't wait.

Yes, season seven has the potential to be something good and I'm with you guys on that. Looking back though, I've been disappointed with the show too many times to believe they'll get it right this time. In my opinion, Smallville will continue to be an interesting show with moderate writing, weak plot-ideas and more often than not a completely wrong focus. Ratings might be high in the first few episodes or maybe the first half of the season but it'll slowly sag down to unsatisfying numbers much like in this past season. Those weak ratings will also be reason enough to end the show after this upcoming season because the show is simply too expensive for what weak revenue it allows for CW. ... yeah, I'm pessimistic

Pessimistic is right. Lol. The ratings slid this past year compared to it's performance on the WB, but it was good for the CW. The CW doesn't have too many shows that performs like it. ANTM and FNS are about it. They lost Gilmore Girls, which did almost as well as Smallville. Who knows how the ratings will be for the new shows, or all the shows in general. There is the potential ratings will go up this year and do better than last year. If they do, or at least stay the same, then it would be reason enough to continue for a season 8. Tom Welling and John Glover are signed thru season 8. That doesn't necessarily mean anything, but if the ratings hold steady, or do better, I would say season 8 is a guarantee. The producers are already talking about season 8. Smallville hasn't really disappointed me in the past. Like every show, it has good episodes, weak episodes, and so on. The only stuff I never cared for was the relationship stuff or Lexana. Lol.
