So, the final was 2.21 million?. I hadn't seen the final yet, just the overnight, which was 2.11 million. At least it went up.

According to www.pifeedback.com, the finale for OTH had 2.50 million. Last season's finale had 3.06 million. Lead in, Hidden Palms, had 1.48 million.

I don't know if I can say that. That's higher than previous episodes, and a big jump up from the lead in, but 2.5 million is certainly not that good, especially when that's down 560,000 viewers from last year's finale. Of course, this is the early number, not the final. The final may be better.

I don't know if I can say that. That's higher than previous episodes, and a big jump up from the lead in, but 2.5 million is certainly not that good, [...] Well there's more to consider and if you look closely on some ratings, you might be surprised. Even though the season 4 finale of OTH went under with 2.5 million viewers, it was about 13 per cent up from the previous episode while last year's finale (season 3-22) went up roughly 7 per cent. Oh and despite the viewer drop of twenty per cent from last year's finale to this one, the season totals aren't that much different. Season 3 averaged to 3.07 while season 4 managed to get 2.96 million viewers. In the first half of the season, there was even a 3.41 average (thanks to a strong lead in) which went down almost a million to 2.55 in the second half. A part of this can certainly be attributed to the break in March/April that resulted in prolonging this year's schedule until June, a crazy idea if you ask me. Another part that ought to be considered is the importance of lead ins. I've already mentioned that an important part of the strong ratings in the first half of season 4 are due to ANTM - but with the end of its seventh season in May, Hidden Palms was a weak follower, ratings wise. While HP continuously lost viewers (from ep 1 to 3 about 15 per cent), OTH gained about 19 per cent in the same time-span despite this weaker lead-in. There are certainly not enough digits to color a 2.5 million finale in a positive light, but external influences weigh heavily on this so I at least can't paint it a failure. edit: mistake corrected

According to www.abcmedianet.com, the final number for OTH's finale is 2.33 million. This makes it's season average(excluding repeats) 2.94 million.

The CW is starting to show promos for the new season by advertising it as "Fast Forward" and you can go to www.cwtv.com/fastforward to see clips of the upcoming season. They only have Brooke's up right now. It looks like it will be more like a mature drama this season. Not sure how to explain that but with all of the characters grown up more, I think it will be more adult drama.

What does everyone think OTH will do in ratings for it's premiere?

It's hard to tell b/c of no timeslot yet but I think atleast above its summer-run ratings (2.2/2.3 million-ish). It depends though. It's been getting some good early promo though!

The show is set to premiere on Tuesdays I think in place of Beauty and the Geek on January 2 or 8, I don't remember. Maybe this writer's strike will help the CW and its shows, while a lot of networks are showing repeats and reality maybe people will look for original scripted shows. Thats just a hope though. I think the premiere will get 3 to 3.5 million viewers, but that may even be too high. Since One Tree Hill is starting the night instead of being after a show, I don't think it will do much better or worse than Beauty and the Geek did in the timeslot.

Yeah, OTH showed during it's final season on the WB that it can't anchor a night....or face any kind of competition.
